Huawei can buy American chip technology

 


Prior to the imposition of sanctions, Huawei used Kirin chips for high-end smartphones like the Mate 40 and Qualcomm Snapdragon for budget models.

The United States will make an exception to Huawei's sanctions by persuading the Chinese giant to buy American chip technology.

Qualcomm confirmed to Reuters news agency that it had received authorization to sell chips to Huawei but did not specify what chips were involved.

Huawei's smartphone business is still in trouble despite what Qualcomm can sell. There has been speculation that the company is close to selling Honor credit while Huawei does not have access to the latest foreign technologies.
