Xiaomi introduced the first transparent TV

Xiaomi unveiled the world's first mass-produced transparent TV as part of the company's 10th anniversary celebration.

"It's a transparent TV that Xiaomi calls the Mi TV Lux OLED Transparent Edition. When it is turned off, it looks like a glass, while when it is turned on, the images appear "floating" in the air ", says the company.

What makes this TV special is the transparent OLED technology or otherwise called TOLED. Most screens use a reflective cathode layer not allowing you to look the other way.

TOLED screens use transparent components and without the need for backlight like LCD screens, each pixel emits its own light enabling a transparent screen.

The result is a 55-inch display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, 1ms transmission delay, 150,000: 1 contrast and a 93% DCI-P3 color profile.

Inside it is placed a MediaTek 9650 chip while Xiaomi mentions in the presentation also the artificial intelligence. Currently this TV will be sold only in China and costs 7,200 dollars.
