Mozilla has announced that it will close two products, Firefox Send and Firefox Notes. Both services will no longer be part of the Mozilla product family, the company announced.

Of the two services, Firefox Send was the most popular and the content delivery service was one of the few services that provided end-to-end encryption.

Launched in March 2019, the service quickly built a user base yes in Verau took offline after malware abuse was reported.

At the time Mozilla said it would shut down Send temporarily and promised to find a solution to address the malware. But a few weeks later the Mozilla leadership decided to lay off 250 employees as part of efforts to refocus the business on commercial products.

Most of the Firefox Send staff is now gone.

The same reasons apply to Firefox Notes. It would serve as a way to exchange notes between desktop and mobile browsers and the service offered only on Android.

In October the app will no longer be bundled with Firefox Send.
