Microsoft buys Fallout game maker

 


With the new acquisition Microsoft can make the upcoming Xbox Series X console more attractive than the PlayStation 5 for some gamers. Both consoles debut in November.

Microsoft announced today that it has acquired the company after Doom, Fallout, Skyrim and Wolfenstein games.

The Windows and Xbox giant will pay $ 7.5 billion for Bethesda. New games will be added to the Game Pass subscription for consoles and computers.

With the new acquisition Microsoft can make the upcoming Xbox Series X console more attractive than the PlayStation 5 for some gamers. Both consoles debut in November.

Game Pass currently includes more than 200 games. It is not known what effect Microsoft's move will have on upcoming emerging titles like Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield.

The Xbox Series X will cost $ 500 while the Xbox Series S will cost $ 300. They will compete with Sony solutions, the $ 500 PlayStation 5 and the $ 400 PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

The acquisition of creator Bethesda by ZeniMax comes after the company failed to buy TikTok.
