When Always Home Can is activated, family members will receive a notification on their smartphone giving them the ability to view live footage.

Amazon said the device was built with a focus on privacy. The device costs $ 250 and will currently be sold in the US only.

The same division also introduced a security camera designed to be used in the car and monitors activity near the car when parked.

Consumer spending on Smart Home devices will drop 15% this year to $ 44 billion due to the economic downturn from Covid-19. But forecasts speak of a return to demand in 2021.
