Apple will use cheap battery parts to offset the cost of 5G on the iPhone 12

While facing high production costs of the iPhone 12 series due to 5G technology, Apple is using cheaper components in other directions according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The biggest blow will come from battery technology according to Kuo where Apple will reduce the number of layers and place cells in a smaller space.

Simply put the battery will cost 40 to 50% less according to Kuo while next year another reduction will be made by 30 to 40%.

Incorporating 5G technology into the iPhone will cost Apple between $ 125 and $ 135 per unit, and that's only for mmWave technology. 5G chips for frequencies below 6Ghz will cost $ 75 to $ 85 per unit.

This year’s iPhones will debut in October a few weeks later than the traditional September presentation.
