Britain marks a drop in the daily death toll from Covid-19 casualties

In the past 24 hours, 230 victims of coronavirus have been reported in the UK. That figure was lower than the day before.

As part of that number, 166 deaths were recorded in England, 50 in Scotland and 14 in Wales. Northern Ireland has not yet published the figure for Wednesday, writes "Metro UK", reports Gazeta Express.

However, this figure is preliminary, while the official number of victims will be published later by the British government, when fatal cases outside the hospitals will be calculated, such as those that occur in the homes of the elderly.

The new figure came after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that 181 health workers and 131 social care workers had died so far from Covid-19.
According to official government statistics, the total number of victims as of Tuesday has reached 35,341. However, data from the Office for National Statistics show that this figure may have already reached nearly 55,000, including suspicious cases.

Britain ranks second in the world in terms of the highest number of victims, after the United States, and third for the highest number of infected, after the United States and Russia.
